Hey all...

So, this morning I was asked to resurrect a product model I made a couple of years ago for an animation we are putting together. So, I opened up the file, and the model is there, but the Text labeling is not visible. I did all the usual stuff, making sure no visibility filters were in place, etc, and while the the axis was there showing me where the text would be, the text itself was no where to be found.

I then copied and pasted one of the text pieces into a new project file, and began to experiment. The text was still a text spline, so I went to make it editable, and it wouldn't. I then remembered that (and maybe it was actually 9.5 where this happened) C4D changed the way it handles text splines. Had I made the spline primitives editable, this likely wouldn't be an issue, but as such.. I have what appears to be a great deal of work on my hands.

While writing this post, I figured maybe I can do an install of R9.0 and see if that brings back the text... but I thought I would give fair warning...

Just to give an idea of all the text involved, here is an old concept render of the model in question (the only one I could find.. not a great one, but you get the idea):

One of the minor but important changes in 9.6 was that text now takes spacing correctly into account. However there was no change in 9.0 or following that would account for the trouble you encountered.
