Hi everybody!

I am browsing this Forum for a long time, but never posted anything before... because my work is simply not comparable to the high quality work of you professionals

but anyway i am working on this lambo murciélago for some days (20+ hours of modelling / tweaking). I am currently building some environment to test lightning / shading and i am seeking c&c on color and overall modelling!

plz help ;)

Lamborghini's ideal colour is definitely yellow. GREAT MODELING!!!!

wow.....great work!!!!!
color is great in this way, or you can try some hard edge graphics next time as Lamborghini reminds me the word 'strength'.

i must borrow your first paragraph when i post img next time.

 What do you mean you don't compare to other modellers here?! That's a very high quality peice of work you've come up with.

On the colors, no crits or critques, since everything appears to be perfect (don't quote me though because I've never seen a lamborghini in real life)

I believe he was just being modest. Very good job; it's a great looking model.

i think the glass of the front lights is a bit odd, maybe you should make it a bit clearer cause most cars lights have clear glass

wow looks very nice to me
no crits on the modeling
maybe add interior to make it more real...

so lets see the environment you come up with :>

id suggest using yellow or black as color
fits best in my eyes

im doing a murcielago too at the moment but the blueprints im using dont match up 100% so do you mind posting the blueprints you worked with ?
would be a great help :>

im interested in your modeling method as well
i tried poly and spline modeling in 3dmax and dont know what fits me (and the car) best yet
any input appreciated :>

thanks in advance and post updates so ive got a goal to achieve ^^

w0w! Thanks for all your comments so far! :buttrock:
Since yellow seems to be THE color everyone is in favour of, I've uploaded a new image with a view from the back!

Dark Carnival: Thanks! I used blueprints I got from aor on this board, who is also modeling a murcielago. I uploaded them here: murci.gif (http://drjames.bei.t-online.de/images/murci.gif)

About my modeling method, I built spline cage first and then created mesh poly by poly. Finally a little bit of meshsmooth and there you go :D

any additional suggestions / comments?

mhh
looks perfect

so i have to be picky

the air inlet at the back of the car
the thing that lifts up if extra air is needed

the line between the lower half of the car and this air inlet is maybe not smooth or fluid enough
uhm hard to explain

but it looks a bit off
not rounded enough

hope you know what i mean
else ill try to mark it on your picture

oh just seen the blueprints
thanks a bunch
i fear they are the same i use but ill try
must be wrong aligning by me then

and ill try your method next :>
just spline patching wasnt really pleasing unfortunately

thanks again

About the Blueprint Link not working - i already realized that, but it seems that most browsers (at least IE) cannot display this type of GIF image... try right clicking & save as... it should work!

Damn, I'm late.

I wanted to see a green murcielago, that would be something new... everyone renders it in yellow/red. ;)

What are you using to render, and lets see some Chamealon paint :D

Wow, nice model. I've seen murcielagos in person, and yours looks perfect except for one minor detail, the gas hood on it's right side. Yes, yellow is a nice color for lamborghinis, but I also like night black.

Hey! Thanks for all the new suggestions / comments!
I didn't really have much time to work on the environment, but i decided that this one really needs some interior...
so i'm going to do that first - meanwhile i've prepared some new shots & a wireframe render for you all to c&c :)

http://drjames.bei.t-online.de/images/murci_wip3.jpg

though i've got some problems that keep me from posting closeups ... especially the backlights need to be redone as they are just a texture atm

thanks again & cu

ps: as someone asked for it: some shots are scanline w. hdri plugin, but i'm also testing brazil on this one

Nice model man!
You better check the scale of the upper right picture in your last post.
I think it would be nice to make him orange.
(littlebit like the letters in the Z-Brush-add)

Agent.Orange
02-12-2003, 02:34 PM
thanks nibo! (i think i remember some of your cool work on 3rd-d right? i have not visited that one in a long time  )

about the scale - heh :surprised: haven't looked at it from that way ... anyway its just one of those "lets-see-how-it-looks-if-i-slap-this-ugly-texture-on-the-ground" - tests i always tend to make :D .. it's not going to stay like this..

the z-brush ad isn't at the top atm ... (ads are never there when you want or need them :scream: ) but i think i remember the orange tone and i'm going to try it!

updates following soon!

You were on the 3rd-d-forum also????
Cool! Hehheh That was a long time ago!
I also never checked since...

Anyway, here's a ref pic of the color I meant.
(it's a bit plastic-like, but the color is cool on a car, I think.)

I'm italian and i know italian sport cars very well. You're not saying a true thing, red is the Ferrari colour, traditionally Lamborghini are yellow.

buzzlightyr
02-13-2003, 08:45 AM
Ok so Lamborghini are meant to be yellow, Ferraris are scarlet (and the best i might add) porsches are silver, but cant you plz just make a red version of yours, and what modelling method did you use? :applause:
