I recently graduated with an Associates in Computer Animation, and like most people that just got out of college, I need to get a job.

You can view some of my work, see my resumé and contact me at:

www.BrainFaucet.com (http://www.BrainFaucet.com)

Please note that I am willing to relocate to nearly anywhere and will accept internships.

Thank you.

Derick you need rea-time models in your portfolio. If you want to be a game artist ... keep them under 3000 polys .. www.polycount.com

Thanks for the tip.

Well, there are a few low-poly models in my gallery, including two playable Quake 3 & Quake 2 characters.

But I am not limiting myself the game industry. I also enjoy animating for film/video.

Also I've been frequenting polycount.com for a couple years now. (both my released characters are on there and I also made a polycount.com winamp skin that can be downloaded in my gallery)

I've updated me site with some new material...

Now will you hire me? If not, then what do you think I should work on to increase my chances of getting a job?

3 things:

1. Attention to detail: In both low and high poly models, make sure every polygon adds to the character/object. with higher res stuff, go wild with the detail, it will show effort.

2. Heart: When making an image or a character, make sure you think about the emotions you want to evoke. Start with the primitive, then to the complex, in short show you care about what you do. Show what is unique about you, drop all things generic.

3. Professional appearance: If you (and your website) don't look professional, you will not be taken seriously. Your site is nice, but a background color, some separate sections, and complete removal of such work as "things I did for mom" and "generic male" and "I need a job" will greatly improve things. Under PS experience, high school is not going to inspire confidence, your trying to sell yourself here!

see you,
