model the feather (long and hard work but still best way to get a great model)
Make the eyes twice larger and more exorbities compared to the eyelids.
and weld the beak !:scream: ;)

Hey Geckopunk83,
Check out my bird thread for some ideas on how you could do the wings...
Martin Bird (http://www.cgtalk.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=41699)
To get back the cuteness, I'd make the eyes larger, more like the original version, sticking up higher above the head. At the moment he looks a little angry.
Check the knees, birds knees (well ankle really) are nobs that are wider than the legs, rather than sticking in as you have them.
You might also wanna try using a texture for the leg feathers rather than modelling them. Using transparency you'll be able to get a more authentic look, although that may not be the style you're going for...

little update...trying out feathers on his body. he's supposed to be flightless anyways (like a kiwi bird) so it just might work...oh and is that more what u mean about the legs kretin ?
