HI Guys,

I have a number of photos that I want to move around and finally should form into a logo. My prayer is that this should be possible without coughing up dough for a 3rd party plugin.

If I have to go into expressions, so be it. Can any body tell me whether it is possible and that expressions work in the 3D space before I dive into scripting over the weekend and muck around? There seems to be very little information on scripting expressions working with attractors/repelers. I need to make sure that if I spend money I won't wake up the next morning and find the information has been available somewhere all along :(.

However I understand I could be asking for the "Crown jewels". If I am, then I start scripting or I pay :).

What's it going to be ?

Neither of what you describe is ultimately a necessity. You can create such stuff with plain AE and plugins included without expressions or anything else (which, if you allow me to make that observation, wouldn't be too helpful in such situations). If you have AE 6.5, look into using the 3D Assistants LE. Also check the Card Wipe/ Card Dance effects. On Ayatoweb there is a tutorial that explains something similar to what you want to do. That aside, the main work will be to arrange your layers to shape the logo and that's a mostly manual process with some help from a photo mosaic software, perhaps.

Thanks Mylenium,

I was afraid of that. I wanted a one-size-all-import-folder-and-shazam! solution :) .

I will do it the manual way. I had forgotten about 3D Assistants.

Thanks again
