A great big article on the official site... some wonderful stuff!

Many new additions to the team, including Feng Zhu (amazing) amongst others... several former game artist guys too.

And of course the exceptional Ryan Church, Erik Tiemens, Iain McCaig.... a wealth of talent... and some lovely inspirational artwork in here too from personal folios and (maybe) EP III

Enjoy :)

Controversial! ;)

I guess this is where we ignite the Star Wars VS: LOTR debate...

It's all good to see fellow artists making quality work... maybe we can blame George again if the movie is flat.

does anyone know where dermot power went? he doesn't seem to be part of the new line up of concept art guys for episode III, which is quite a shame considering what a great job he did on episode II. just wondering...

just a little late night venting here...

i know its the trend to always have a negative remark
whenever the topic pertains to starwars nowadays, but
must it be on EVERY single thread? its just amazing
how fast people jump the gun on things. its only
in concept phase, and we already have naysayers
singing the "it'll suck" song so soon. soon afterwards
the lord of the rings vs starwars vs matrix vs everything
else and the kitchen sink discussion will perpetuate this thread.
that will be soon followed afterwards by Weta will kick ILM's ass because, um...starwars sucks? Healthy competition is GREAT for the industry, but sometimes the online cgi community for some reason really wants it to be as bloody and brutal as an all out cock fight. Two shall enter, one shall leave sorta thing..hehe. Does this kind of behavior stem from the days when kids used to religiously swear their lives on either Nintendo or Sega? Did this kind of thirst carry over from that I wonder?

I know I'm getting off topic from the quote, but yall
have to ease down on all the hatin'. Forums such
as this would be a much better place if blank
negative comments such as the one above are backed up
by some kind of constructive and valid point. Since Ep3
has not really been released yet, I doubt any of us
can do that at the moment :)

Just my two cents.

Hey Gio... I'm guessing you maybe didn't get the humour in my statement; have to make it more obvious next time :) Maybe the 'winking' smiley aint big enough...

I hate the 'My movie is better than yours/my software is better than yours/my tackle is bigger than yours' line too... everyone is just trying to earn a living and better their skills; and it's always good to see great work, like all these guys on EPIII, Matrix sequels, LOTR...... These are exciting and inspiring times.

If story falls flat it's not an artist's fault... people seem to forget that a script is the bedrock of a movie, and last I looked the art team weren't writing scripts...

:D
