that is rather exceptional, I don't like ramnstein either but It worked well imo.

zombie aniamtion was a little stiff...but it's a zombie.

I LOVED how you had the scene with the hand held camera and the zombie, that was very cool.

Your models are simply wonderfull, your editing was prettty tight and the texturing was top notch...I hope to god you wre not unemployed for long, because what hope do the rest of us have?!

THe only part I didn't really love is you were showing some cuts (cool fight club style btw, it looked great) and you fade into a smooth shaded grey head and kind of wiggled it around...that felt out of place with the other tight sweeping camera movements.

THis occured around 1:31 btw.

Why is everyone so hooked on DivX? Its not really widely supported (I don't have it at work, for example). Whereas MPEG-4 will play in windows media player, quicktime player and DivX player. I really want to see so much stuff, but I can't at work because we aren't allowed to install software. I promise, standard mp4 is just as good.

I haven't achieved a fraction of what I saw in your reel, what is happening to the industry? There must be someone that needs someone with your skills...

You know, I hope you keep us posted on your job search, because this worries me, and I'm sure it worries many others as well.

Your artwork is very high quality, and it's quite varied, you have a car, spooky cgaracters, fantasy, great looking textures. Maybe the modelling could be a bit better organzied topology-wise, but I mean, it's nothing really, and at least in still those models work.

I guess the big question is, will they work in motion? I be they do, but you should animate them, not necessarily to tell any sort of story, just show that they can deform properly, show that you truly have control over the geometry.

Make them twitch and grunt during the truntable or flyby camera motion, have them standing up, scratching their crotch,m whatever... I think that will make the models much better. Because as is... a studio may think that they are better off hiring traditional artists to get the model done and just 3D-scan it.

But, by looking at the topology, I think you'll have no problem in wiggling them around a bit, and if you have the time to make a whole story, go for it.

If you don't have experience in setting up IK rigs, hey, that's what we're all her for as well eh! I'm sure there are several friendly animators here that would be glad to help you out somehow. I'll be looking for some help myself sometime soon.

A guy was watching your reel this morning in class....really great stuff Hiko....loved your models, and really like the fact that you used Rammstien (sp) on the "darkside" of your demo. Only crit I have is some of the camera movements seem awkward to me, most of the time the quick movements work, but in a few cases it seemed strange.

Awesome reel there. Shows some very nice modelling. Some of the creatures look like they'd belong in the Doom 3 universe. Not to mention the game whenever they release it. The transition from "nice" to "dark" played out very nice with the music

Shame my computer isn't fast enough yet. (upgrade coming soon... 2600+) It stalls on the asian woman with the head wrap. but the rest of the reel works just fine.

unbelievable!!! your demo reel is the best one I have ever seen! you use XSI ? I was wondering, when you model your characters, do you have background images as references or do you just look at regular photographs while you are modeling ?? also, when you modeled the monster with the tower on his back, did you model him standing first and then moved him into that position ?

Indeed bump or displace texture can optimize some parts of theses models. And you have right for model's animation, if I do not find a job I rebuild my demo following this advice.
