Hey guys i need some help. I am trying to get on with a technique called ambient Occlusion for 3ds max.
Now the version i am using is 8, however i would like to transgress this to 6.
Bacscially the tutorial (posted below) i am having problems with the specular pass and the occlusion pass it self.

Im not sure what i am doing wrong but the problem is, when i try and get a specular pass nothing comes up. It is just completely black. I use the default render, with lights on only emmiting "specular",
The next problem i am facing is the last occlusion pass. Once i have my mental ray shader in do i turn on a sky light, any light?! also how do i associate the shader to the scene?! do i put this is the projection slot on a light?! i cant seem to add it to a materal.
