Here is a centaur character I am working on. Right now I am building the 3d model but I could use some comments on the overall design. I am using a Belgian draft horse as my model for the horse (elegant, but strong horse).

Things to consider: how are the proportions? Is there enough man vs horse? Are the drawings clear enough? Does this look like a centaur (whatever that may be) to you?

Thanks in advance.

So far looks good. However a couple of observations. A centaur is suppossed to be a mythological creature, mistikal, something that shows pride and encourages respect or fear, etc, etc. The face drawn looks a bit too nice for such a creature. I would add rougher lines, tilt the head back a little and move it back almost reversing the neck angle. Also I would make the chest larger in the front to give it more body. Rough shapes wherever possible. Something that looks brutal but smart. Marble sculptures from old artists might give you a reference for facial expressions that people asscociate with mythological characters.

My .02 cents :-)
