So it's a begin of my story. I've make some sketch's for trailer story. Now i'm concentrate in making a clear "work board" in order to understand what way i should go to make this trailer better and create all scenes faster and right. Also i need to understand what instruments is better to use.

I just whant to make my working progress as much usefull as i can and i think it's interesting not only to make modelling, concepts etc.. but try to make work process idead, balanced and interesting.


So the plan is:
October:
- story board.
- concepts.
- working with sound track.
- prepare work process.

Novemder:
- modelling.
- mapping.
- painting textures.
- timing story board.

December:
- additional modelling.
- lighting.
- animation.

January:
- composing.
- final.

Welcome to the challenge. I enjoyed looking over your storyboards. The print was just a bit small, but I think I got the gist of them. The drawing is certainly nice and neat. Looks like you're off to a good start.

Thanks for laying out your process too. I (for one anyway) find it both interesting and helpful to see other people's production piplines and goals.

So, there is strider concept. I think i'll draw some concept's for better modelling process and texturing.

Acctually i love drawing concepts, i think it helps to feel a little bit free from time and 3D restrictions.

I like the mood you get from this concept, but just be careful to make it your own. It looks near identical to the enemies in Half-life 2. Still...it looks very very cool!

I agree with MatrixAgent, though I'm reminded of the Tripods from War of the Worlds. I don't remember there being much ground fighting in Eon, the Death was basically MAD being carried out. I like the idea of building up the action before slapping the EON name in on the end though.

Thank's very much for comment's, it helps me a lot to uderstand what feelengs appears in human soul when someone looking or understanding something.

Yes, it's look like HL2 strider, yes im a very big fun of a HL2, but i create it like i feel it in my soul.. i don't know why, but i i think "strider" should look like this.. i just see it like this..

And this is a free art challenge as i understand, so i whant to create my universe, not just book "word by word interpretating".. i just like freedom in art and i think the main point of this challenge is not to show your abilities of 3D or 2D but to make you free to interpretate story as you see it.. to show it like you see it.. war and pease..

Trere is a lot terreble and dangerous things in the world.. and we should to understand that this things is.. people..

Concept of the sity that will appear in second shoot, by storyboard. I think the play of light and shadows will be plot of this shot.
I just whant to make it simple enought and eye cathing, so i have to make it contrast.

Ok, now im coloring the storyboard, making some more concepts and then start modelling.
I think to remade some parts of storyboard in order to make it bigger and more usefull.

And i think about models requrements and animation process features.. i whant to make clear 3D.

Really like the style of your concepts gives the story a really nice feel to it. Are you going to do the trailer in the same dark style as your concepts? I really like shot number 7 of your storyboard I think that will come out really well. It looks as if it will be very dynamic.

More great concept work. I agree with Tenacious; I really like the dark style you've got going here as well and I hope it carries over into the final product. I find it very compelling just from stylistic point of view. Keep it coming!

This is a Raven concept. It's a fly battle machine made only for assault and destry everything around it.

I whant to make it look strong, heavy and a little bit ugly like all battle machines.

You can see that front part of Raven is look like Ka-52 "Blak Shark", because i think it's one of the most powerfull military design ever made :)

So, there is my edited storyboard. I think it show how i see the trailer and how i whant to do it.

Before draw each shot i think about scene construction and try to found optimal composition, it's must be fast and optimal to model.

Great boards! And you can do it! This has a clear, logical flow to it.

One comment: I note that there's no image between Shot 6 and Shot 7 which sort of breaks the rhythm established throughout the rest of the opening sequence (i.e. shot, text, shot, text, etc). It does emphasize the text in Shot 7, though, and perhaps that's what you were going for? Anyway, just thought I'd mention it since for me it did stick out a bit.

Also, I wonder if showing the shot of the world and the nuclear explosions in Shot 8 and then having that key text ("Who will get it first?") follow in Shot 9 is somewhat anti-climactic (since it sort of gives away the visual impact before the question is posed)? Would it work better having another image in 8 and then the nukes follow? I'm not sure.

Great stuff, though. It's nice to see your concepts all put together like this.

Hope that helps some. Just one opinion, of course, so ignore it if it doesn't :)

So there is no image betveen 6 and 7 shot because a have 2 positions:
- i can use some additional scene
- i can make a one shot from 4 and 6
So i think about it later.

As for 8 and 9 shots - it's really problem shots, i make some other types of this part of the story and choose this one. I can't discribe it by words but i have an idea how to make it good enough. And there will be a pause between 9 and 10 shots in order to suddenly bring scene from silence to action. Music will help a lot i think.

My pipe line is:
- Make concepts&story board
- model all scenes
- Raw light setup
- Prepare effects
- Draw textures
- Mapping and light
- Animation&camera
- Rendering and compose

Great models. Those telescopes are especially well done. I think the detail level on them is fine (especially considering they're only on screen for a few seconds). I presume you'll still be doing some texturing for them?

There is scene 4 model, some detail's is not complete yet, they will be done after animation process, because it's not clear now with details will be visible in final animation.

I'll show all of them, not just a final version, because i whant to know every one's meaning about what is better and where i have mistakes.

So, i have some problems with i-net connection but now everything is ok and i'm ready to show everything i've done.

This is model of a protect car, the scene is in progress and it's 90% complete. There will be 2 or 3 fragments in a shot 11 with this car, so i have to do some animation tests to understand where place camera and light.

So, this is some pictures from shot 11 with a car, there will be 3-4 animation shots from this scene. There is lot's of work to do.

i' ve completely miss your sound part dude ! it's pretty cool too ! your trip hop beat is really great.
One suggestion if you allowed me, in the middle of the cymbal (about between 16-25 sec) i think you could put percussions instruments like derbouka and bongo. it could make an great introduction to your bass beat .
You could maybe too, put an environnement or fractal noise at the beginning, to assist the chord before the cymbal.
Of course, it's just an opinion !
Anyway really good work, the OST sounds great !

Nice job! I listened to your first track again as well, and I think they'd both work quite well. In fact, to me the second one felt even a little more moody (in a good way :) ) and a bit haunted. I guess it just depends on the overall feel you're going for. I'll be interested to hear the third one.

Hey targus, trip hop rules man ! and with your second tracks i will be not surprised if you said me you love tricky :scream:
Anyway, on this one, good surprised to ear chords variations, but i've some regrets to not find again the bass line of the first, which was for me, really great and give the power and rythm of your composition, but of course, i'm not a pro and give just my opinion.
The first remind me some besson's fifth element sounds, with something "arabic".

Anyway, can't wait to listen the third ! great work man ;)

Cool model. I really like the shape of the tail. It gives it an almost predatory feel, like it's a scorpion tail (well, a reversed one anyway) about to strike or something. Great job! Looking forward to the composite.

Definitely liked the last track best. Goes good with Cobra. I like the "shifting" from the intro. Sounds like it's gearing up. Cool.

Nice modelling in your shot 12. It's all coming together. I enjoyed the 3rd soundtrack too. They've all been good. Each one sets a slightly different tone, so I guess it just depends on what overall mood you decide you want to establish. Keep it coming!

SO, there is some completed scene renders. Post and animation is easy here, but composition was a little hard for me, because i can't choose witch type of composition to choose.

great renders, targus! you did this by yourself, correct? that's so cool. i haven't looked much, but I haven't really seen someone go this far on the trailer project by themselves. i gave up on mine way soon. it's awesome that you're still doing this and i really hope you finish ;)

You can do it!!! That demo video was great. It's always interesting to see how someone else puts things together. I was particularly intrigued by how you composited in the dust cloud effect from the tank.

Great storyboards! This one's going to look fantastic.

In shot 18, I think it would read better (grammatically) to have something like: "Based on a novel by Greg Bear." Or in the Instructions for the challenge they require that we use the line "inspired by EON, a novel by Greg Bear" if we show our work anywhere, so maybe that line could go there instead. Just a thought.

But it's looking really good (but then, I knew it would be from the rough storyboards way back when we started)!

I use FL Studio 5 for trailer soundtrack and this is how it looks.

It's very powerful sequencer and music creating program, i really love it.

A very nice entry indeed. There are some wonderful shots in there. I think my favourites were the opener with the radio antenna [Shot 1], the shot of the Tower City [Shot 16] which had a beautiful background, and Shot 10 because I thought the camera angle was so cool. You obviously put a lot of work into this, and it shows.

I also liked the opening antennae shot and the closeup of the building battle scene the best.

I just love it,:bounce: especailly the clouds and the alien ship design... although the quality of your video seem a bit pixelated because of encoding, but I just LOVES it, well done!:thumbsup:

Just one little thing... just noticed you have "powerfull" instead of "powerful"(after the opened folder sence)... should be one "l" or two "l"s?... I don't know...because I myself not good on english grammar, just pointing this out in case it is a mistake, out of absolute respect for you and the work you have done here.:thumbsup:


I was also spelled ENO instead of EON on final animation, lucky that was pick it up by a community member and got it fixed... :blush:
