Hey guys!

Here's a render from an animation I'm working on at school. I'd love to know what you think of what I have so far and feel free to give any suggestions.

All the textures are procedural. I'm using Max 5.1.

Thx. ;)

Here's a link to a HIRES RENDER (http://www.wideopenwest.com/~aspiretek/hires.jpg) too.

the grass is distracting...it should be clumped in some areas...

reminds me of "serious sam" :)

The water looks to luminecent to me, and I would tone down the fire sparks, they are a bit to crisp IMO.

the light coming from alll sides, it looks good, but probably wouldn't be that was in real life (correct me if I'm wrong).

agree about the clumping of the grass. It might be a lot of work, but i think it would add a lot of character to the piece if there was vegetation growing over the tiles, and across the architecture, and not just between the cracks.

Thanks for your input guys.....

I agree about the grass and vegetation. I actually have plans to add vines and various plants in a more realistic manner on the floor and walls. The grass that's in there now was only a kinda test. But you're right adding the vegetation will be rather time consuming which is why I haven't gotten to it yet. :D

I also have plans on adding more complex architecture, what I have so far is really more of a layout.

Yeah, I've been debating about the water....I've been trying to simulate a glow coming from the pool below, it is a bit too much right now....heh. I'll tone down the sparks like you said too, I wasn't sure about it, but now that I have a second opinion, I think you're right. About the light.....lol....nope...its not very realistic.....but it's kinda the direction I was going....more of an artistic choice
