View Full Version : Baja Engine?
yourteenidol 10-24-2006, 01:07 PM Does anyone have any thoughts regarding the Baja Engine?
I learned about this yesterday on XSI base and while it does seem "Interesting" I do have more than a few reservations about it.
I'm curious to learn if any of you have tried it and/or what your thoughts and impressions are about this tool?

hmmm...can't say I've used it, but the integration looks tempting.
Price, on the other hand, not so much (for what it appears to do).
I'm a BeyondVirtual licensee (beyondvirtual.com) and am much more
excited about what it can do and the support it offers (and price).
They seem to be heading in a very good direction for the indie game
dev, although currently they don't offer direct XSI support, you can
get your assets/anims in via FBX (version 2005.12, but they are
looking at how autodesk changed the format for 2006.02 and 2006.08).
Hope it's of some assistance. :)

Yes, I agree.
If you compare this to something like the torque engine, well, there is no comparison at all. I really don't quite understand how the developers of the Baha engine can price it as they have. The torque engine costs less, does more and has a big user base.
I think I will just stick with what I'm using, it's not XSI friendly but that's life.

jay
