Hey Im having weird problems with blendshapes. I've used them before and everything was fine, but now its being quite strange.

I have a boy character modeled. He has a separate peice of geometry for the head, which is a polygon. I've got 4 other heads for the blendshapes, same topology.

When I make the 4 heads a blendshape for the main head and turn up one of the slider, he is supposed to smile, however, the head quickly gets much larger and floats far away to the upper right and eventually gets so far away I can't see it anymore.

So, I tried using "world" in the blendshape options, and parented the blendshapes to the head joints so that the blendshapes would follow the original head. Now when I turn my slider up, the head moves back to the origin. I figured since the blendshape head was parented to the main head joint that it would stay with the original head, I guess I was wrong.

Can ANYONE offer any help?? Anything at all would be appreciated. This has never happened before. Does it have anything to do with its transformations of the original head or the blendshapes?

Also, just incase anyone thought of this, I made sure to select the heads inputs and drag the blendshapes to the end of the list so that they are evaluated last.

You want the blendshapes to be evaluated FIRST. But I think dragging them to the end of the list does this? I can't remember which way round it goes.

Make sure that all your blend shapes are the same size, and have history deleted and transformations frozen before you make the blend shape

Hey thanks for the reply - I have a book on character rigging and they said to have the blendshape be evaluated last, but I'll give what you said a try too. If you can think of anything else that has to do with blendshape troubleshooting let me know!

Thanks,
