2D Face setup (Maya)
Introduction
My ambition is to create a semi-automatic 2d face setup. Based on Osipa's face setup system used in his book Stop Staring. I want to create a fusion between cut-out and classical cell animation.
A friend of mine, Linus Lundberg, drew this sketch some time ago and it will be the base of the setup.

I'll be using planes with PSD projected on. The first thing I'll have to work out is what form of deformation I'm gonna be using. Either clusters or blendshapes. Soon I will try to make some tests with the most complicated part in the face; the mouth.
I'm gonna document this process as thoroughly as possible for those who are interested in character setup and MEL.
Cheers for now!
