hi!

I run in the following problem from time to time - evertime i'm not quite sure how to solve this.
:D

What i want is that the crease in the lower images should looks more like the green line.

How do you solve this?

cheers,

Hi, here's the answer

Just add subdivisons as in the picture here below. You might need more or less depending on the result you want to achieve.
Please post again if you need more help with this :)

(Other ways are to add more weight to some vertices or chamfer the edges or crease teh edges, but this should sort it)

edit: if you don't want to get those two triangles straighten up the oblique edges or alternatively make the new subdivisions oblique

this is what i got...just simply do.. i think just need a few edges.

At the center there i use some bevel to increase the sharpness. Then you'll need to add a few edges at around the cube. Or else after you smooth the shape will run because no edges to stop it. If you add some edges there, then it'll not smooth so far. as i said so, i bevel the edges at the center because i wan to to be sharp and dun wan it to be rounded. This is keep the edges at center sharp. But if you want to make the square at the center, you'll have to add some edges. (Maybe i explain wrong,:D If it is anyone correct me please?)

Thanks for the help!

The easiest and most reasonable solutions are always hard to find.
I think i will try a combination of weight to some vertices and bevel along the edges!

Thanks monica-taddei & diginime for your explations!
