if anyone has norton firewall installed on their system, remember to adjust it's settings so that other systems on your network can talk to the system with firewall installed.
i fiddled with my system's network settings and switched countless network cards thinking that the problem was because of those two things while all along the culprit was norton firewall :annoyed:
anyhow, just wanted to let you guys know about this if any of you ever install norton personal firewall on your system.
