Title: Little Cartoon Butterfly
Name: Jeroen Ritsema
Country: Netherlands
Software: Maya, Photoshop, XSI

This Butterfly was made for an animation project specifically meant for kids from the age of 5 to 12 years old. The base-model is made in Maya and I finished it in Softimage XSI. For the animation I made three versions, the normal model, high resolution and a low resolution meant for the animation of this butterfly. I have used several shaders for this model such as bumpmaps, specular, displacement maps and incidence nodes.
After that I added an ink-line to the renders just to give it a nice cartoony look.

I also made two animation cycles:
Slow Fly Cycle (http://www.fromlake.com/portfolio/Films/Vlinder-Fly-Slow_b.mov)
Fast Fly Cycle (http://www.fromlake.com/portfolio/Films/Vlinder-Fly-Fast_b.mov)
