Its time to spend the bucks and get our matchmoving in-house. I've used previous versions of Boujou before and have gotten to know it quite well and know it would work well in our pipeline. I have little doubt that for $10k I would have matchmoving software I'd be happy with if we bought Boujou 4.

That said - I'd like to hear pros and cons of other software. Long time ago I used Icarus - it was ok, so should I consider PFTrack (since thats what Icarus became.) Its half the price - but when it comes to a tough track will it do as well as Boujou?

What about other software? The only thing else I've ever played with is Maya Live and don't really think its in the running.

Thanks for any input.

Syntheyes is pretty increadible, especicially considering its price. But I have seen a lot of great tracks come out of matchmover pro that Boujou just would not resolve. Have only used boujou to version 3 and I hear that ther is some improvements in the latest version so I am hesistant to dismisss it.

If your shopping and reviewing, let's not forget 3d Equalizer. Though I have not used it a whole lot, I am still impressed with it (after using MatchMover). Definately worth checking out. They have a learning edition on their site.

I use the MatchMover from realviz, They have a free 3dsMax plugin which works inside a 3dsmax viewport, really nice for quick tracking jobs. They also have a stand-alone pro suite, haven't tried that one yet but It seems to have a more features.

The tracking quality of the Max plugin is great, havent got much expirience to really compare it with other products, but it works for me.
