Hi guys! What's up?
I'm here again!
This is my last work. Lee's old truck.
Modeled in Max 4 and rendered with Brazil with catmull rom antialiasing and GI (3 hours 23 minutes:scream: )
I use mainly polymodeling, and Nurbs for the wheels. 145.000 polycount.
Hope you like it!!

Suggestions are welcome!!!

Bye.

Overall it looks very good and modeling seems to be good too. BUT the orange paint looks way too saturated to be considered old paint and scratches are bit overdone.

Btw It is good to see people are mixing Nurbs and Polys with their models. I found max's nurbs again a while back and planning to use them a lot.

thanks salo.

here there is the complete scene, rendered with the default scanline render (only 2minutes 38 sec 800x600!!!)
This scene has about 400.000 polys.
I used 36 lights (many of them for a skydome for fake GI)
In the rendering, I choose catmull rom antialiasing 'cause the area default antialiasing for scanline, is not pretty good. Catmull rom produces a edge enhanced result, that was what I wanted.

Again... Suggestions are welcome. Ill appreciate your feedback!!:wip: :wip: :wip:

Hey dude!

Nice model. I think you could make the rubber around the windows a little thicker. Right now the glass is almost up against the orange paint, so it caught my eye right away.

Are the headlights a texture map or modeled? They look a little bit flat.

But overall it looks killer!

Thanks cabbe!
About the headlights, they're modeled with Nurbs and I've used just a bump map, in a raytrace material. By the way, i've had a lot of problems with the raytrace material. The setup is really difficult, specially when you use reflection in complex scenes...:D
Thanks for your comments!

i think the shadows are a little too dark, and the license plate looks like it was added in photoshop or something. It's too clean, It needs more dirt to match the car

nice work

Great image but--I'm sure you noticed this--there is texture distortion on the edges of the hood from the projection, at the very least you could clean this up in photoshop and it would really improve the image.

The steps of a 3D design: sketch - model - texture - first OS crash - lighting - second crash - test render - crash again! - hit the computer - computer permanent damage - screaming - kick the computer - CPU learns to fly through my window - design over.
Haha! Just like I do it! Which version of Windows are you using? :p

Nice image. Desaturate the paint and work on the material.
I first thought the white dirt(?) at the edge of the glass was supposed to be broken parts of a former windscreen  It's a bit overdone, I think.
The watertanks could use a little rust. ;)
Apart from that it's a nice pic! But I prefer the look of the brazil rendered Version...

Greetings,
XerC

Very Nice, but as usual i have a few crits :)

I agree with the rubber round the window needs to be a bit bigger and the white damage at the edge, not sure what that is.

Also the paint definitly needs some fading with sun damage. It looks kinda sunny in the final pic so it would definitly have damage. also some chipping of the name like it was painted on with gloss paint by old lee himself and the weather has made it bubble and chip off.

oh and the tyres need to be a bit more nasty, i can still see tread on them and the logo on the side. Mabe he just put new tires on the truck but a bit of dirt and damage might add to the truck.....but i could be wrong, what to i know. :)

Anyway sorry for being picky i really like the truck and the textures are very very good..........i look forward to updates on this one.

Many thanks for your critics Thefreak, they're very picky (as you say). I'll try to improve the model according they.

I appreciate them a lot!!
