Hi there,

The third and final instalment of the production diary for 'Paraworld's cinematic trailer is complete. The guys from Studio Pendulum, all of them, have worked hard on presenting their story of how they pulled the production together. I've wrangled all three together, so you can see the entire jigsaw come together.

Congratulations to the Pendulum guys (and gals). This is a mammoth effort.

Real quality work. I see in the behind the scenes vids that they used Maya, Vue and ZBrush, but any word on how many people and how much time it took?

well thats kind of a hard question to answer. The span of the project lasted more than a year, and other projects were going on at the same time. But I would say actual production time was roughly 4 months. Also, alot of things had to be completely redone when the resolution was kicked up to HD from NTSC.
Theres a full list of credits at the end of the article, it was truely a privilidge to work with this team.

I wonder just how long it took such a small team of people to pull it all off...

it sorta reminded me of one of the aeon flux episodes, the way it tracks somebody till they die then onto the next one.. but not as much of a progression to the story, just total chaos. still, very well done and all, it just felt like the end was cause time ran out on the production.. the game itself looks interesting, dinosaurs vs. mummies? i had an idea to do something like that as a parody but it looks like they mean it to be taken seriously here, heh heh.

That's a great cinematic, so rich in detail and action! I really like how the camera transitions between so many fast-paced action sequences, it makes it even more exciting to watch (without making the viewer dizzy).

Thanks for giving us an inside look at the various stages of production and problems that needed to be solved, it was extremely interesting :applause:

Beautiful work, from all fronts:Texturing, lighting, animation, etc... you guys put a lot of effort into this and it shows... great stuff

It's almost too much to take in at once :)

congrats Pendulum for the awesome work!
I am sure there was a lot of sweat and hard work being put in making the cinematic. It's really impressive for a small team.

What impressed me was the movement of the dinos. Oh, I hope we'll see that kind of movement in-game! :)

That link is to the trailer that was released earlier to premote the game.

The Trailer linked in the article is much more polished although not as high res

Really well done. I wish there were more detailed "making of" info availble. Especially on the rigging and animation of all those characters, especially the dinos.

How big was the size of this team? Was it all done inhouse or were there freelancers involved as well?

Congrats on achieving so much with such a small team - now your expectations will double as will your work hours no doubt lol.

One small critiscm - It all goes by too quickly and might be a little too cramped - I had to keep skipping back to see what was going on.

GREAT JOB OVERALL THOUGH!! :buttrock:

im a student studying digital animation but was wondering more or less how much time did it take to model, texture and rig each character (an aproximate) for the particular paraworld production -including the props-
