Looking forward to it! Trying to download it now, but you have to sign up for this Veoh thing and install it. Its a 50 mb file too. I just checked Blue Sky's website and this doesn't seem to be mentioned on it. There is another Scrat short they mention though.

It was mentioned over on CartoonBrew the other day when it was on YouTube...then Google pulled it. Love it. :)

NO TIME FOR NUTS

Posted by JERRY at 03:15 PM (http://www.cartoonbrew.com/archives/2006_10.html#002366)

UPDATE: Earlier today we had a link to the new SCRAT short from BLUE SKY (http://www.blueskystudios.com/content/index.php), No Time For Nuts, which will appear as bonus material on the DVD of ICE AGE: THE MELTDOWN (http://www.amazon.ca/Ice-Age-2-Meltdown-Widescreen/dp/B000GYI2XM/ref=imdbpov_dvd_0/701-1080556-6501151?ie=UTF8) (on sale November 21). It has been since pulled from Google Video most likely for copyright issues. Needless to say, it was hilarious.

That in one really good short! I think Scrat is the best part of the Ice Age world but the poor little guy never gets his nut  I feel so sorry for him.

Roberto - I dunno about plugging it, this looks like a leaked short from the Ice Age 2 DVD, I doubt Blue Sky want it out there given that it's been pulled from Google already. Unless it's a special deal Veoh has arranged?

(But laughed my head off, great work)

Modern day Wile E. Coyote for sure. I know that changing the acorn chasing gag (where the main conflict is the environment) might be to much of a break from formula - but it would be nice to see Scrat get into some emotional conflicts. Perhaps a love interest other than acorns (a la pepe le pew)? Maybe some non-environmental competition? I think the character has definite room to develop. Cheers.

If this is a dodgy rip, it has actually worked in Blue Sky's favour. I wasn't that fussed about buying the dvd, but I'm now going to buy it just for this..... and this!

For those that haven't checked it out, it's a little compilation of stunts performed by the two possums, Crash and Eddie - Hilarious stuff! Love the bit where one of them 'Does the Crouch'! (For those that followed Englands woeful world cup campaign! ;))

Lovely stuff.

Too funny. That part where he's in front of the statue of David...wrong, but funny. lol

Aaaaand - it's gone, as predicted. The possums are there for now if you hurry, but Scrat has been pulled.

This video is no longer available due to copyright violation

Are there any alternative links for it?

The "Ice Age - The Meltdown" DVD, which ships legally on November 21, advertises an "All–New Short - No Time for Nuts" as a special feature.

I know people probably could provide you with links and bittorrents to that, but you know the policy here...

Haha! I enjoyed myself sooo much with all those shorts. It does instead makes me WANT to buy the DVD right after I get off the computer. BlueSky has great story ideas for gags and their characters just makes you love them. Thanks for sharing!

Also, I felt despite the 'overly done funny animals' things going on, you have got to admit that this is still very enjoyable. :)

Was lucky enough to see it in time, awesome short. I always loved Scrat more than any other character in Ice Age.

Well it's been pulled but I'll now be buying the DVD, that was Blue Sky's best short yet! I actually think their short films are much better than their features.

Since this was linked as frontpage news on http://www.cgsociety.org/ you'd just naturally asume the link would work, or that they remove/change the link if it's broken. Thanks for the info though that it'll be on the dvd along with the movie as well as it has just come out or comes out soon around the globe.

I was talking to a friend of mine at Blue Sky about this, and he said, yeah, it got bootlegged, but its not such a bad thing....at least a lot of people are getting to see it. I can understand that view. It wasn't a feature, it wasnt really made to make money, it was an R&D project. So, too bad it got booted, but everyone will get to see a high res version of it on dvd when it comes out!! YAY!

Fantastic short, mainly from the ideas/r&d point of view...and of course solid animation. Here's a new and resizable link! If anyone figures out how to download this locally, please post a link to a downloadable version.
