Dually noted...But don't give up hope. Well...no...give up hope...it's not all that usefull. Accept your defeat at the hands of Max's texturing and put a .45 through your brain. That's what I did...and look how I turned out!!

NOTE: This post is not an indorsement of suicide. :D

For the record: I really like texturing and uv-mappping complex n-legged creatures. There is nothing like hide that nasty uv-seam with clever masking. That really makes my day!

Off the record: I kinda like modeling with max's nurbs too....Weird huh?

And thus the day arrived where a large portion of the MAX community vanished overnight.
All because of 3DZealot.

I'll never forgive ssalo for the NURBS comment :), but yeah texturing can be mighty fun imo as well. It's tricky, and certainly the UV mapping portion itself has a very limited range of entertainment to offer. But after that, doing the Photoshop bit, slowly seeing your surfaces coming to life.. yeah that's cool alright.

Howdy !

I must say that i actually like unwrapping my meshes, it's quite fun to move around vertices and figure out how you're going to paint that and mask your seams and so on : )

now i'm a sick puppy, i know that !!
