View Full Version : ATI Fire GL 8800 - Any Thoughts

Hi Everyone,

I have been shopping for a graphics card. Money is an issue so I was considering the 8800.

I have heard great things about the Quadro 4 cards, but they are still a little on the high side. I am using my machine primarily for Maya and some video editing. It's not a gaming machine (More of a PS 2 guy when it comes to games).

I am curious if anyone has used the 8800 and what your thoughts are on it. Thanks.

I got one in November, initially I had some problems driver wise, but with the latest drivers I'm fine. I run Maya 4.5 and Lightwave 7.5 with no problems. One funky thing though...I was having some major problems at one point and it ended up being my motherboard bios...flashed it and everything worked...go figure....:shrug:
