Can anyone help me get the diamonds to have a sparkle in them? Would it be easier in post? Also, any suggestions on how to get this to look closer to realistic? I'm using a downloaded gold shader for now until I can create my own. Many thanks.

Diamonds sparkle due to the fact they have hundreds of tiny facets (flat planes) that at any particular point reflect or do not reflect bright things in the environment. So as long as your diamonds are constrcuted properly, and have a good glass material, and then you place plenty of bright objects in your scene (such as white self illuminated planes), when you move the diamond, yu'll get sparkles. If you'd like, they can be enhanced in a piece of compositing software by adding stuff like stars and such, but you'll need to have the sparkles in some form in the 3d render to have something decent to work with.
