His cloths are made of Nurbs. His hands and head are built with Polys. I just finished him and I was looking for some feed back.

something seems to be off I think. it could be the head or the arms. I think the arms might be alittle too short maybe. looks good though. nice character.

Nah, that's not it - the original character in the movie was the same i believe. That is from Les Miserables right?
What effect were you trying to achieve? Gold? Copper? Wood? Other?
I think that's a major part of the "something's off' problem.
What's it for?

I modeled him for my demo reel. I am not going to texture him currently. The lighting is just to show the details of the model.

looks good brent. I dont think you wanted to stay close to the movie Les Miserables ( in any case, there s like a dozen of Les Miserables movies, can t really base on that.) I like the lighting scheme.shading, it s a change from the usual GI renderings we see out there (i think playsooomuch (sp) wrote in a thread "why don t you spend some time lighting your scene instead of just pushing a button ?" i have to agree.)
Talos has a point, the neck structure is not evident, though it s not uncommon it does a feel a bit stiff.
my main issue would be the hands, they look a bit loose. other than that it s a very nice character.
what did you use ? looks like the body is nurbs.

Thanks Fango! You sound familar. Have I talked to you before?
I am not so worried about the neck because he is a stocky man but the hands have been giving me problems. I have modeled them a few times. Does anyone have some tuts on the best way to go at modeling hands?
