View Full Version : help with rigging an andriod

I am building a android character (think Irobot) with ball joints at the ankles, knees, hips, wrists, elbows, shoulders, etc. Can anyone help with what is the best way to rig this character. I would like the limbs etc to rotate on the ball joints and still have the foot flexable so it can have some foot roll when walking.

i would say as a general tip it would probably be helpful if your joints were placed exactly in the center of the ball joints, this would help align the geo so they are not rotating off improper directions. if your using maya to rig it, I would play around with the xform command to help get the pivot points of objects.
