View Full Version : Character: Ninja
Darknon 02-04-2003, 08:03 PM Hi there
I have just finished my Ninja character, who is going to be the star in my new animation, which hopefully is going beat "Killer Bean". It's a hard job, but i belive in can do it.
So what do you think of him?

XerC: Hi there, i'm very sorry to let you down :-( But i'm not the one who made Killer Bean. I meant that i want to make an animation on level with the bean, and hopefully above it :-)
I really dont hope, that this will lose interest, because i'm not the Killer Bean guy... (his name is Jeffery Lew by the way)

Nice work :)
I find the seam down the middle of the character a bit distracting. If your going for a cartoony sylized look I'd make him as smooth as possible (alternatly if your going for a realistic look I'd spend some time studying anatomy).

Ben: he's suposed to be cartoonic, and the line down the middle is because he isn't wielded yes (he is now). And i don't want anatomy muscles, as he is cartoonic and i'm trying to keep the detajles low. If i'm going to have 8 ninjas on screen, i really has to keep it low.. But thanks Ben :-)

He's pretty good, since it's an early model I'll only say that the sword edges need a bit of sharpening.
I like the face :)
Can't wait to see the finished model.

draconix: thanks :-) I've made the swords a little thick on purpose, so what they will be more visible in the animation.

so why did i only get 3 replys? Does my character stink? Tell me what it needs, to get better. It is what these forums are for right?

well.. it looks too simplistic... if you are going to show some animation test, then dont ask for C&Cīs for 4 hour meshes...
;) sorry ... u ask.
hi!!! well, first of all i'd delete that sim in the middle of the model. Then i'd regularize it a lot to be more "clean".
I'd also make a cartoonish texture for giving it more credibility.
The environment is too simple as m.groff said, but if u animate it very good, as all the things well animated...u know, can become...very good :applause:

I think you'll find a lot of people won't reply if there's nothing to crit and would rather wait for some progression before giving their advice. like,.. say 'hey this is a table!'... what would you want someone to reply to that.. other than... 'yes it is'.
and yes most people can tell the mesh isn't welded.
as far as i'm concerned I'm just sitting back waiting for something to happen and so far so good, want more than that? sorry...
