Make a second mapping modifier, set to map channel 2, make it planar from the side. Make a gradient ramp that goes from white to black, set it to map channel 2, and have it move horizontally across the geometry. Then use that gradient in the mask slot of the mask texturemap, with your texture in the first slot. So what you're basically doing is applying your texture, then masking the part of the geometry you don't want your texture with the gradient. Let me know if that's not clear.

If by back you mean the way the logo is showing up on the cup handle, it's probably due to the fact that it looks like you've used just a planar projection to project the logo onto it. Rather do a cylindrical unwrap and place the logo in that way, thus defining exactly which part of the geometry the logo will appear on.
