I like them both, but having to chose just one I'll go with the first: it's more dynamic, in my view, and has me wondering about what the story is and what will happen next.

The second is good too but (in the stage it is) feels more 'classical' and a bit generic to me.

More action, and more expressiveness.
For the present without color.
There are vertical and gorizontal variants one idea.

This final version concept. Color and atmosphere may be little change.
I make not concrete scene from book. This is improvization from action and psychological atmosphere. But behind scene is tunnel, and action is set in spaceship or scientific-station.

Your compositions looks very nice even as a thumbnail, it makes curious to see more:thumbsup: !
I can well imagine this scenery and like the general view...the only thing a little pitty is that you're not following one of the sceneries in the book:shrug: ...I think it would be easy to keep the general composition and making some slight changes, so that you're more with the story!?

I think that absolute following to story don`t have imortance, becouse I make scene in world of this story any case. Therefore in the first place in picture pompously visual interpritation universe of the book, but no concrete action or scene.

In picture can be small changes (in characters, details of clother and so on).

The last colored sketch revealed a large eye looking in. Maybe you can make that work for you somehow. The line art is fantastic. Both figures are drawn so well. I've seen so many Russians who could draw figures so well that I'm wondering if it is something that is more stressed in schools there than in the USA. Anyway, the man is especially well drawn, that hand is masterful.

I'm not sure where you are going with the story of your entry, but so far so good on the visuals.

That's one really great line art! :thumbsup: However, it doesn't fit well with the story as there is nothing like this in the book. :shrug: Doesn't give me the "Eon" vibe, if you know what I mean. Could be just any other sci-fi image.

Nice image so far... I agree, very nice lighting. One area that stands out as possibly needing some refinement is her right (screen-left) hand. It feels very large compared to the rest of her. Perhaps it might help to make it smaller, or if you're going to a perspective thing, work on the perspective of her forearm as well. Good luck!

This is really turning out nicely. Maybe for some added drama, you could expand the canvas upward? I'm not really sure what that would do, but just something to consider, a tall, thin composition might give more of a claustrophobic look which I think would add to the emotional impact of the piece. Regardless, looks good so far, but I agree with walrus about the hand. Good luck :D

Great sketch and the light is awesome, good going! Oh and i do agree with the others on her right hand. Her hand should be roughly the same scale as her face, maybe shink it down almost half.....:-)
