View Full Version : Modelling A Pillow
xiaowinter 10-16-2006, 02:00 PM Well i just started learning maya and for my second assignment i got to model a scene. I decided to start off simple modelling my livining room. Does anyone have tips to model a pillow? Iam now in the stage of testing it out. I start off with a cube and bevel the edges to make it look more pillowly. Is there any better way to around doing this?

actually J, you are right! :)
I suggest a bit of displacement or possibly a bit of zbrush work (unless it's for interior design and architecture, they need to look impossibly perfect in that case :))

You've just pointed out everything I hate about architectural visualization.

hahahahah :)
I know, it sometimes looks so aseptic and fake! Reality is gritty, and that's the beauty of it :)

While the pillow in my tut may not look "used", with minimal effort it could easily be made into an "older/used" pillow :)

Hi Todd,
of course, we were just kidding :)
I was thinking it's amazing this is the third time I see people asking about pillows... Why is everyone modeling pillows?

Hi Todd!nice site and work, I had seen your work before.
I suggest you write a tutorial about how to make a tyre, I can see you have one in your Wip section. Lots of people love to make cars and it's a good hardface exercise.
