View Full Version : Vertex binding question

I'm looking to bind the vertices of one object to another so that the transforms are relayed on a sub-object level. I've tried to use a cluster arrangement, but it doesn't work for what I'm trying to do.

What I'm looking to do is get around the idea of painting weights on a smooth skin bind. I can't seem to get it to work like I want and the other alternatives aren't that great. The component editor it too precise and lattices are just a pain in the ass, as they only attach as a straight up and down x, y, z arrangement.

What I'm wanting to do is have my cps model DAG attached to my medium poly model, which would be attached to a low poly model which would work as my lattice. With this I can place my vertices on the right place on my low-res to get the exact weighting I want.

I know there's a way to attach everything in Maya, I just don't know it yet.

Got it from another page. I'm using a wrap deformer and it works perfectly!:love: :grin: :lightbulb
