I have been modeling with nurbs for about three weeks, and I am modelling a 2006 Dodge Ram completely in nurbs for a school project. Below, I have posted some screenshots of the model in Maya 7. As you can see, I'm getting some nasty geometry for the front-quarter panel of the truck. I'm using a square nurbs surface to generate that piece, and have been unable to correct the geometry after playing with the tool settings and attempting to CV wrangle the surface. Anyone have any advice on how to fix or reconstruct the surface? Thanks for the help, and any critique on the rest of the model or advice is greatly appriciated.

the geometry for the fender is way too high already.. if i were you and you really wanted to salvage it i would just rebuild the surface (edit nurbs -> rebuild surfaces) and start over.. try to get the general shape and then convert the entire model to polys.. that's just how I model though. I'm a student in my senior year and remember my first car.. it SUCKED images/icons/icon10.gif don't get discouraged.. it takes a while and in my opinion cars are the hardest subject to model. good luck.. if you don't want to continue your way.. what I do with fenders is draw a spline and use the birail tool to get a nurbs plane, then cut the fender hole with the trim tool. there are plenty of car modeling tutorials out there.. the fender is the most difficult part.. look around
