Hi,
I am planning to buy a dell laptop (xps m1210) in Japan, and as such it comes pre installed with a japanese language version of Windows MC operating system. I want to replace this OS with an English version of WinXP pro, and Im thinking the cleanest way to do this will be to reformat the HD and install xp pro from scratch.
But I was wondering if I might lose anything I need that comes preinstalled on the dell laptop (drivers, dell specific apps, etc)?
Or if I am likely to have any problems installing winXP on a reformatted HD? (in terms of winXP installer not recognizing hardware etc, since I guess this is a fairly new laptop and XP is a few years old now...)
Thanks for any advice.
