View Full Version : Manga/Anime shader
malc0lm 02-04-2003, 02:39 PM I was curious on how one could make a manga kind-of shader
(like Kaiskai's purrfect example: http://www.cgi.third-era.com/~kaiskai/stills/3d/jpgs/orangelight.jpg )
Is Cell-Render the way? Would truly appriciate a small tut or likewise!
Cheers.
EDIT: sry, mis-linked

i dunno if im aloud to tell exactly how :\ but he uses either falloff shader or lumas depening if you want to set up for still or animation repectivly...then uses cell renderer within c4d to get main outlines....
although ambients model works realy well with c4d cel renderer because it is soo soooo many seperate objects...ill get kaiskai to give you a reply though

Check the library, same shaders as used in the blue tiger setup, the ones on the orange tiger use lumas so that they respond to lights, while the blue ones use falloff so you controll the lighting angle in the shader, great control for stills, but lumas is better for animation
