Hey Guys,

THere is good progress on the Interior Design project, BUT part of that tutorial was

originally supposed to be the modeling of flowers using a little system I created for it.

And I have decided to split the two apart and release the flower one before this. THe

interior project is not quite ready yet, there is still a lot to do, I'm not exactly happy

with what I havbe so far. But it won't be much longer.

As for the flower tutorial, it might be ready tonight, but I still have to put the files in

place and upload them to a server and that takes a while. So realistically on Monday or

Tuesday you will be able to donwload it from somewhere.

I've always had trouble modeling plants and flowers and tutorials are hard to come by.

So I searched my soul and found a way to learn it. ANd so I developed a pose mixer system

that will allow you to shape your flowers with great speed and have quite a lot of creative

control. Its pretty great if I may say so myself. :)I don't think that I have even learn

how to take advantage of it fully.

The tutorial is in part the setting up of this system. Maybe you guys will be able to add

to it to make it better. The scene files will be included.

It'll end up being 60-90 minutes. Here is a render test. I'm still trying to get the

petals to look a little translucent. (Any hints would be appriciated!) But its pretty much

done, and I'm now recording the lighting and texturing portion.

THanks for the patience, but I just don't want this to be half assed if you know what I

mean.

CHeers,

Tom

Some time ago someone did this to a Boston fern. I don't have it and can't remember who it was, but it saved lots of time when you wanted to add a fern to your scene. By controlling sliders you could add or remove, enlongate or shorten, the fern fronds. It was a great idea and this could be also. Nice work and thank you for sharing.

THanks guys,

The file conversion is going pretty good i finally found the settings i will use and still have enopugh quality and a small file size. I'm using H264 its a really good codec. Wow!! Oh and no it is not a real flower, it exists only in my imagination. The modeling for that flower took maybe 45 minutes or so, but that can be shaved off too.

Anyways, I'm now compressing my recordings and editing them together. One complaint i have is that the sound is not the best, my mic is very sensitive. And so it picked up noise from the street. And you can also hear the key strokes too much.....

But its something i'll have to live with. and I guess you guys too, I'll try to get better sound from here on in. And plus I mumble sometimes, and sometimes ramble on too.

Cheers guys,

Tom
