CGTalk - Modeling Question

hello,:confused:

Is it possible in XSI to Geometry Approximation or smooth one part of the polymesh and leave the rest of the polymesh alone? Like when I have a robotic arm, a few parts need to be smooth while the rest needs to be striaght and have sharp edges.

Hi y2mii, select polys and then right click over them and select "Local subdivision Refinement". I think this is what ur looking for.

If right clicking over the selected polys don-t give u a menu, u have to deactivate the "Extended Component Selection". To do so, goto "Select" menu on the right column and uncheck it.
