It's just another solution...
Get a code which read *.3ds *.obj or *.vrml (at worse) to import in your directX program your model!

Sorry

There's one available on Highend3D.com, do a search in the plugins section

I've also foud it on Highend 3D but there's only a *.mll file (xExport.mll). To work, it also needs 2 *.mel file (xfileTranslatorOpts.mel and bicubicBezierPatches.mel) as written in the readme, but I cannot find them.
Anyone knows?

Have a look on the 'official' microsoft Direct X SDK Download site, it's in a small 'extras' package you can download.

Goddammit, this forum is great...

I need a .X exporter for Maya, so I go to the Maya forum, and search for "directx", and this pops up...

One word: oomph!
