Very nice! I think the Syd Mead project head sculpt actually looks really cool without hair.

Hey AbuAmir, thanks for the comments. In time, all my skills will fall into place; i'm definitely working hard behind the scenes.

Jabuhrer, thank you and noted. The hair has already been done. I will look at the piot later this week.

The modeling is complete where the major design elements are concerned; as the functionality parts are all there. I will let this simmer for a few days before I decide if it requires any more detailing.

Please comment if you can. Thks.

Syd Mead Project update:

The model is considered completed.

This is the Gravitron ATRAC-V1 (Anti-Terrorism Response Attack Craft).

I will let it simmer for a while before deciding whether to detail it further or not.

Comments welcomed.

Hey Vincent :wavey:
THANKS for the visit and kind words and thoughts in my thread. :)

I was just checking out your thread...Really like the way that 3D print of the girl bust figure came out a couple of pages back..GREAT JOB :applause:

I'm not really into machines, but I do like the way the finish came out in that red one a few pages back. :)

I think that on your new one posted in the last page in here above, ..maybe the front could be extended even further out,..making it longer might balance out the weight of the heavier back end more, and further enhance the feeling of speed and arrow..dynamics...Just a passing thought that might be useful to you.:)

About your female figures...I know you are going for a stylized form, ..you might check out the works of VARGAS...He was great at line work, and had a nice style that you might be able to capture and use some of it in your female figures..Just another thought that may or may not be useful to you, but I thought worth mentioning in case it it may be.

Below is a link to some of his works

Coming to grips with ZB4.

Things are so much easier now.

A cumulation of move elastic, zsketching, new clay brushes and remeshing.

Sketch continuation of the above with zspheres, GoZ to modo for mesh equalisation and back to ZB4 for sculpting, remeshing and reprojection.

What it basically means is that it is now possible to easily work in many subtools before recombining subtools as required; not that it wasn't possible before, just more tedious and labourious.

Now everything works seamlessly. Happy, happy, happy...

Hey Vincent..:)

Nice job on that drawing of the girl at top of this page...She is pretty, and expresses personality..

I like your ZBRUSH work also..Have you tried the new SCULPTRIS Alpha 5 program that was incorporated into ZBRUSH 4 yet..?

Link to SCULPTRIS Alpha 5 main forum below.

http://www.zbrushcentral.com/forumdisplay.php?f=110

You might really enjoy it,..it alows for really stretching the mesh without having it get all messed up...Finally, ...a full figure can be created very easily from a single 3d sphere,...and easily also..:) ..hands, fingers, feet, toes and all..It really makes digital sculpting a pleasure..Great and easy program to use, and understand...:)
Just thought i'd mention it, just in case you might be interested, and hadn't checked it out yet.
Take care Vincent :)

Hey Glenn, thanks for dropping by again.

Yes, I have tried Sculptris. I like the simple interface and it's technology.

It is very ram intensive and on my old machine, I run out of ram too fast and everything grinds to a halt after 150,000 polys or so.

I may use it in future for very early mesh generation as I like its auto retopology function; even though I already have a very efficient and streamlined process for retopology in ZB using zspheres.

Poly by poly retopology is a thing of the past as far as Im concerned.

I got a good laugh from your funny face sculptris challenge.

Cheers!

"Being a bust is honourable; having a body is glorious."

Body extension using zspheres.

0.5mm mechanical pencil.

8 inch square paper. Leonardo's sfumato technique.

It 's a pity that the scanning has lost quite a lot of the subtlety of the strokes.

Unreferenced, an exercise in technique and imagination.

Currently training my hand to achieve the strokes using PS.
