It's a nice start.
To be honest, I can't be really enthousiast about a picture made in Bryce or Poser...all the work is already done or almost in these packages. If you want to use Bryce to create the first step of your image, that's fine but you should concentrate on the fx you are doing in Maya after, this is a generic lightning in Maya.
My point is, take your time and if these are your tools, that's fine but try to push them more.
Cheers

I have to agree. Without sounding to harsh I really dont give any credit to "clip art" work. This is like 95% tools, 5% creativity. It really should be the other way around.

sorry not trying to flame...I think everyone has to start somewhere, but if you have Maya try and use that for creating your content....F bryce and poser.

looks like very straight forward drag and drop to me ?

errr could you explain if you think the work you put in this picture equals the look ? well i personaly think all bryce images look the same

no real 3d package to me ... something like well Kai's power tools for PS their just for playing around .. you wave your mouse a little and get a "nice" effect everything without any use of brain

well but if you get through bryce to the real 3d packages why not keep on going and well the image isn't that bad after all .. well it's bryce not your fault ehehe

ps:look at me i just modeled 3 hour's for a dynamic scene and because of all the modeling a forgot that i model for a dyn. scene ... in the end nothing moves and i can do nerly everything again ;)
