Which are the advantages of this software over Photoshop CS2?

There is obviously the price difference, but from where I could see, the new HDR support in Photoshop makes this application unnecessary.

Well i think the first misconception is that Artizen is intended to completely replace Photoshop CS2. Artizen is intended to be a companion tool to CS2. In addition many ppl don't like the latest version of Photoshop and prefer their version 7 or CS or even use a completely different application and in those specific situations Artizen is a very affordable alternative to upgrading to CS2. I don't think there is any question that Photoshop is king of the hill in the 2D world. But unless ppl support a broader selection of 2D applications (regardless which one) Adobe will tell you want you need and what you want especially now that Adobe has bought Macromedia.

Key Difference Between CS2 and Artizen

11 Tone Mapping Operators.
ALL features work in ALL color spaces 8/16/32 bits per channel.

Layers
Brushes
Filters
Scripting Engine

Full Icon Creation Tool.
Now i could mention all the other features that Artizen does have that is also in Photoshop but that list would be huge. If you are a CS2 user you could think of Artizen as the best HDR plugin you will ever get.

Will it assist in the creation of HDR probes? I.E. unwrapping and polar manipulations etc. like HDRShop? Being able to work in a photoshop like environment and all the functionality of HDR shop would be great.

Probe support isn't there YET, but Fisheye (nadir, zenith) <> Panoramic is there now. You can expect to it to be added in the next few months.

this definitely looks like a nice peice of software. I'll definitely jump on this when it has panoramic transofrmations on par with HDR Shop. HDR Shop is so out of reach price wise. it'll be nice to have this as a competitor.
