Connan_Edogawa 02-03-2003, 09:48 PM Hi I just move from 3d max to maya, I found the hot box is very interesting features in maya.
I got a prolem when rotating an object. I Max I used to turn on my ANGLE SNAP to 15 degree so wheneever I rotate an object I am sure that I will got a round angle nummber. DOES Maya have this feature too ? where can I access the feature ?
thanks

Yes, if you double click on your rotate tool (or bring up the tool settings box) you have the option "discrete Rotate". mark this and adjust "Step size" to 15 (default).

I say just get used to typing the values into your channel box. It's going to be easier in the long run.

There´s a default hotkey "j", which toggle the rotation snap when the rotation tool ("w") is active.
Just set in your the rot.tool-settings eg 15 degree, but disable the rot.tool-snapping.
close the rot.tool-settings and press "w"
now if your press"j" before rotating the three axis, rot.snapping is active as long as your press "j"

I would much rather press "e" instead of "w" when I want to rotate...:p
