View Full Version : Where do I report bugs?
Geespot 10-11-2006, 11:54 AM Hi everyone,
I found a small minor bug to do with Current State To Object. Where do I go to report it to maxon?
I cant find a link.
Thanks

Hey Keith,
You can report SDK bugs at PluginCafe->Bug Reports. Report other bugs using Support Questions under Support. The new R9.6+ bug reporter is only good for crash situations.
I read your post at PluginCafe. This seems to be normal behavior. Since my interPoser Pro figures have deformer hierarchies, when someone uses "Current State to Object" (from the OM menus), the polygon object is placed under a null object. You'll have to work with this I think...

Right thanks Kuroyume0161
I will have to disagree that its normal behaviour though as I get two different results depending If I have added a tag or not.
Adding a tag gives me a Null Object, without a tag its a normal polygon object.
I believe its a bug, but its only minor and to 99% of C4D users, it would make no difference whatsoever
P.S My name is not Keith.... its Ian

Oops. I'm getting your username mixed up with someone else (both start with 'G') ;)
This is normal behavior. My figures have texture tags. For some reason, the default behavior in this situation is for CStO to drop it into a null object and collect the texture tags on the null. My thought is that the routine thinks that there may have been more than one polygon object (by default) if there are deformers and treats it that way. The best bet here would be to contact Maxon or wait for a response at PluginCafe (from Mikael perhaps) to see what the official reasoning is for this behavior.

slogging through R10 and I'd like to send in a few bug reports, but can't find what seems to be an actual bug reporting place....
- I found the "suggestions" page - which is about requesting features
- I found the SDK bug report page - for bugs in the SDK
- and I found the tech support page, which is very specifically about getting help using C4D, not really formatted for reporting a bug, though this seems the closest
is there an actual "report a bug" page?
the potential bugs I feel I have found, on OSX (maybe these are old news):
- using command-A in the OM correctly "selects all", but the delete key doesn't work, and "delete" is grayed-out on the OM edit menu (it is available in the main edit menu)
- choose "add cube object" 5 times, choose cammand-A, then edit menu>delete, then undo...only 1 cube comes back. I realize that you'd never actually need this to work, but maybe it is a pointer to some other problem

Hmm, on my PC this bug does not exist. I unfortunitely dont have mac to test on until Monday.
Hi,
there is no bug report form, please use the tech support form to send information on problems you encountered to Maxon.
Thanks for your help
