Title: FireStarter HotRod
Name: Yosif Petrov Iliev
Country: Bulgaria
Software: Maya, mental ray, Photoshop

Hi to all

The idea of this project is from tv show "American HotRod".
I Deciede to "build" one in the way i like it.
I used Maya for modeling, mental ray for rendering and photoshop for texturing.
The project takes me about a month in my free time.
One frame render takes about 5 hours in 2000x1000px.
I would like to tell me what you like or don't like ...
any c&c are wellcome

Your modeling seems very clean, but the render could have been more realistic if your worked a bit more on the background, especially the road texture.

I don't like the design of the back of your rod : the rear wheels should be bigger IMO (the rear fender is almost lower than the front one), and the back looks like a kind of a fastback, pretty strange on a '30s rod. There should be a trunk, I think, but it's a matter of taste.
Good point : the way the front fenders are ending : I love !
Last but not least, the paint : very nice choice of color, awesome flames, BUT the cityscape is (sorry !) awful. No one would have put such a paint on a car since the '70s, and your hot rod seems to have been build nowadays.
Overall, you did a very good job and Boyd Coddington would be proud of it (except the paint...:) ).
3 stars
Keep it up !

Id give you 5 stars for your model but 3 stars for your environment. I actually like the airbrush work on the side of the car too.

good luck!

Great work.
The modelling and render are very good.
The road needs a bit of attention,
but the overall effect is ok!

Congrats! :)
