is it possible to texture both sides of a grid? Id like to animate a page of a book opening and id rather not use either 2 grids or a cube.

Use the "front/back" switch before the the channel you want to texture (e.g. diffuse), then feed two different textures to each of its color inputs ("front" and "back").
