Hi everyone,
Although I've been following CGsociety for a while this will be my first attempt at a challenge. I do realize I'm a bit late to participate especially since I want to read the book first. Nonetheless I'm in in for the fun and first experience.
Hoping to amuse some with my attempts at an illustration I wish you all good luck !

Since it should be a poster and or advertisement for a movie, I was thinking of drawing the whole meteor with some sort of strategic overlay. One where the diferent "rooms" would be indicated and some quantum mumbo jumbo for the singularity. I chose the vertical position for the meteor 'cause it feels more "artificial". Please tell me what you think ! (I'm currently reading the book so the concept might change overtime)

A quick PS exercise. Just to take a peek if I want to pursue this setup.

Helloo, glad to follow your thread from now. Are you aiming to draw the stone like it's half open? to show all the chambers ? if so, you're really mad. Thats gonna be a great piece of art! if not, what is your idea?

@nwiz25 : Thanks ! I took a peek at your entry, if I get anywhere near the quality of your image I'll have had a good CG challenge.
@Warpy : Like many people on this board, job and other obligatiosn do tend to put a hamper on things, nonetheless I'm going to try my best !
@Mark123 : I hope it will be !
@Msaber : Not exactly in detail, but i was thinking fading out in to a grid like cross section, think glowing green lines and letter ... as if it was viewed on a computer screen with a graphic overlay to identify stuff on the meteor.
I'm hoping to get some time in on monday and wednesday.
All the best you all.
