i am animating a trapeze where the charater follows one trapeze rope for one loop, then does a flip in the air to the other trapeze rope.

what is the best way to animate this?

i was going to parent the character to the trapeze, but i dont know how to parent for just a certain amount of frames.. in other words i cant get the character to let go of the first rope...

i am using maya 7
