hi all
i learned lighwave 3D about 2 years ago and lately i'm trying to get back to it/.
now i have this creature i want to model. but i have a problem with the ref. i have a picture of him from back, front, and side , but there are few problems.

1. the BIGGEST PROBLEM > the front view is not complitly front. i need to re-paint it so it will be full front direct view. i have NO painting skills! HELP PLEASE if anyone here can repaint this i will own him forever .

2. the second problem is about the legs. im not sure if the creature is standing in a normal position or is he half sitting. what do you think ? i have to understand the nature of this ... and i could use your view about how you would have attack this ..

Work towards being a bit more flexible and work without cutsheets for a change. This is a relatively simple character, so it's a good opprotunity to work on more freeform modeling skills. I don't think it really requires a repaint.

Secondly, cartoon characters will often keep thier original state in many ranges of motion. A great deal of the articulation comes from stretchy bones for cartoon characters, the skin on them tend to stretch a bit more rather than crunching and folding like realistic characters. It's very simple deformation that occurs, so it's best not to overthink it's posture. I would model it in a slightly more upright position, but not by much because the function and style of the character will change from whats intended by the original artist.
