I am in... Hope this will be the first one i will finish too... Have to read the book (i am reading another novel right now)but i started reading about the book and just thought i would start with something simple like the logo work... No color yet.. Just the form...
Due to work i wasn't able to sharpen my 3d or compositing skills at all and thus i dont hope to win this but i really hope i will learn something from this challenge...
Hope you like it...
Best of luck to everyone...

Great to see your entry here! Nice start with the logo:thumbsup: !
I'm sure to see some amazing ideas from you...Good luck and of course: Have fun!:)

this is just an idea for the fifth chamber... two islands in the middle of the sea that was created by the water that falls of waterfalls from the mountains... I will give it a more granite color in the future probably... There are some pyramids and labour camps on the islands... Hope you like it...

Good to see you've already started with an interesting idea. The thumbnail also looks very much like a logo, really catchy and memorable:thumbsup: ...I'm looking forward to discover the developing of your vision:) ...
Have a nice day!
Very interesting graphic style! Keep it up! looks cool!:applause:

this is just the start for the terrain.. i hope to have it finished by friday (including textures)... will use hexagon to add some detail to the rocks and the island(s).... hope you like it so far... c&c welcome as always...
I will also try to complete the soryboards one of these days and post it so you can see what i have in mind...

I agree with Sabrina, the thumbnail looks like a cool logo or something. Nice pics so far.
I'm curious what role the fifth chamber will play in your trailer. I don't recall it playing a large overly role in the book. Or will you be sort of flashing through all seven chambers? That would be cool.

I talked to a couple of very good friends and they agreed to team up with me for this challenge... Since i was on my own up to now, i have to consult with them on the script that i had in mind and maybe start fresh with a combined idea... Will keep this thread updated as soon as we decide where we want to take this...
Hope you will be patient with us since this is our first collaborative challenge and we have to learn how to work together to achieve our goal... I have worked with these people in the past and i am very excited about this....

First of all A VERY BIG THANKS! for your reply on my thread.:)
This entry of yours is no doubt up for a good start..
Nevertheless, theres nothing much I can comment for now except for saying that I can see some creative foundation here..I like the uniqueness of your logo and cant wait how you will employ this to your trailer.
Your initial 3D & texture concept looks promising as well ..
I will keep an eye on your entry pal..
Goodluck to you and your team!
my EON entry
mmh...the 3d fit the concept.Good thing! and..good lock to your new team!

First of all, thank you both very much for your comments... I will meet with the team on Saturday and try to finish the storyboards this week... I am reading the book again and that will help us develop storyboards quickly i think... I hope to post an update during or right after the weekend... We are going on a completely different route than the one originally planned...
Once again, thanks a lot for your comments...

great to hear that you found a team of people to support you:thumbsup: , I'm very curious now to see the new direction you're going, hope to see an update soon:) ...
and I also hope you've solved your hardware problems meanwhile, a crash always happens at the worst moments:twisted: ...
Nice day for you!

Thank you very much for stopping by Sabrina and a good day to you too... My new pc works like a charm.. Its faster and has a better graphics card so things run more smoothly... And its a laptop so i can work even if i am away from home (work still takes up too much time)...
As i said, no progress yet but we think we should first organize stuff with the storyboards and then go on with the idea... I have some ideas but i would like to hear what the rest of the team thinks or has imagined so far (its a collaborative project after all)...
Once again thank you all for your comments and also thank you for your patience even though i haven't updated in ages... As i said, i hope we will post the storyboards soon...

This is my realization of the Frant so far using only some of the book's descriptions and totally disregarding others... Sorry we haven't posted to he scenario and storyboards yet... another member of the team is still working on it... We have been rare in upedates due to extreme workload in our works but i believe i will be able to make some prograss this week...
C&C more than welcome...
Thank you in advance
GREAT FRANT !!! I LIKE IT WILD AND WILD!!!   FANTASTIC!

Not a standard creature, it's good, the more unusual elements your work contain, the more interesting it will be.
Keep on and good luck !!!

First of all, thank you very much for your support and comments... This is the update of the frant so far... I like how it is turning out but i want your opinion too... I am trying to push the alien thing and since there are no restrictions I am just letting my imagination go wild... Tell me if anything is bothering you...
Hope you like it... C&C is more than welcome...
I really like the torso, abit less the legs. The frant is an iteresting character in eon...curious to see it in development!
12-07-2006, 07:33 AM
Ah, finally some more action here, and I've nearly missed it:scream: ...
Really interesting design for the Frant, very unique and I fell the same about it like Fabio, the torso is looking great:thumbsup: , legs could need more work, perhaps the "feets" are a little too clumsy...!?
Hope to see more of it soon and of course I'm curious to discover the storyboard:) !
Have a nice day!

Thank you both very much for your input... I am changing the legs as we speak and also making the arms... I will post when i have finished the arms.... I am flooded with work right now and i have to go out of town for work during the weekend, so i will either update tommorow or on tuesday since i wont have internet access of the weekend...
I might move this thread over to the illustration since i am not sure the rest of the team will be able to make something in time... one is working double time on a commercial for the rest of the month and the other is organising events for her work for the xmas period so they are swamped...
I, on the other hand, would rather die (not really) than leave another challenge unfinished (3 or 4 so far) even if that means not making it into the trailer entry and creating an illustration piece... It might go slowly by i will work it out...
Once again, thanks a million for your support... You guys and girls rule...

Hey, some great stuff you've been posting here. Sorry to hear that you're team's tied up. But I suppose work is a good thing. :) Best of luck on completing the challenge though (trailer or illustration, whichever way you decide to go).
