IMHO, in a strictly theological consideration, buddah is as divine as jesus...
good idea, buddism isn't an inspiration source for the others participant...
good start, i like the expression of your model..
maybe, he is a bit too fat, compared to a classical representation..
but why not. That's make it more calm. (sorry for my english - i don't find my words today)

Hey Skunk184, I'm so glad that someone is doing Buddha!!! It's looking cool so far - except for that seam down his face...
But I know it's just a start, hey ;)
Looking forward to updates....

Hey there, this is looking COOL!!! :D
I love the ears :)
He's really looking good, Skunk184 (btw why are you called Skunk184?? - it's such a strange name!)
Anyway, keep it up!!! In no time, these polygons are going to start spouting words of wisdom ;)

Afternoon Skunk184. I'll point out the seam again in the middle of his face. It's still visible. And play with the boobs a bit (way-hey!!) They looked better a few images up.
It'll look much better with a nice gold reflection map in my humble opinion. Looks great so far, though.
*Leigh. Maybe skunk had already been taken and this was the next number in line. Like trying to get your own name in a free email account ;) You'll only get JohnDoe17564321@blah.com these days

his man-bosom is very odd I think. Pinched flat like paper or something. He is at LEAST an a-cup ;)

thanks for the comments .........
right then , as for his dodgy man breasts , they looked more like a pair from a saggy old grandma..lol...nipples made of lead.
i ve been playing with them today(i never thought i d be playing with a set of fat mans tits!!!!!!!!!!!) and i ve move the nipple up and rounded them a bit more......tell me what you think!!
the seam will dissapear when ive finished all the mirrored stuff..
oh yeah and i think you were right about his feet Darksky....he must have been in agony....so that why his toes(or should i say boxes)are cut off at the moment
as for the name Leigh, its as dilithium said .
cheers all and keep posting

First nice work skunk184, a very nice buddha you got going there. I was wondering are you making a statue of buddha? That is the feel I get from it so far. Don't get me wrong it's not a bad thing. It just feels as if it is carved out of stone.
Anyways nice work again. :applause:

Watch that flubber fly!
i like the saggy old man boobs. I was trying to make my characters sag a little more, but I can't quite get it right. I guess they'll just have to remain perky
I like the ears too!:D :D
good idea and good shape and for people who wanna know if buddha is a god or not here : When most people think of the Buddha, they are thinking of the most famous Buddha, Siddhartha Guatama. But there have been many Buddhas throughout the ages recognized and unknown. Buddhists do not worship Buddha as a patriarchal, all-knowing entity like Christians. Rather, a Buddha can be many things to many people. A Buddha is pure Enlightenment. To realize the Buddha-nature of your own consciousness, is to realize Enlightenment.

thanks for your comments everyone......
thanx Gabe for pointing people in the right direction....i did say in my first post that buddha was nt a god but in my opion his teachings are more valid than all of the other religions(which do have gods)....this is just my opion and the reason i chose an enlightened one for my model......
so-hi .......he s sort of meant to look statue like but not completly if that makes any sense... still....calm .....peaceful and so on
OK its update time......havnt done much ....i actually spent time away from my computer this weekend:eek:
just changed his face a bit and a few more folds in the cloth.......
still need to work on his sausage finger hands and his feet and where the cloth folds over the feet and i promise to get rid of the seam down the centre for the next post
****MAY ALL BEINGS BE HAPPY*********;)

Nice job skunk,
I really like the way the hands and cloth are situated on his leg. The weight is pleasing as are the sculptural qualities. I can feel the block that it was carved from if that makes any sense. That isn't an easy look to achieve and you have done a great job. It is rare that a model elicits more than awe.
good job.
