View Full Version : Character: Old Diver
ziopredy 02-03-2003, 12:07 PM You excuse the my terrible English. I have created this model for an image with the
model "diver" of Alessandro Baldasseroni ( Eklettica ). The base of her face has created
with the Line method inside 3D Max, the texture are digital photo,
elaborate with Photoshop.

I like to modelled and animate a character and now I study a face movement.

HOLY WOW....
Textures are fantastic!!
I'm not sure who Alessandro Baldasseroni is...but your work is excellent...the only crit I have is the ear...not enough detail. I really like the scar you added to his face as well.
Your other model looks great too!
Your expressions dont have enough emotion to them though. It seems that you just manipulated the eyes and nothing else. Maybe you could add some thickness to the second models eyebrows as well.
Man-o-man...great work....

I really like both of these, especially the old man, superb details on the face. Good job ;)

On your face movement pictures you need to change his mouth expression, because you dont sleep with a smile, and the angry one is more like a evil grin. The surprised one is ok, maybe his mouth open a little more, and neutral is fine.
Other then that good models and texturing.

Textures and modelling are look clean. Nonetheless, you have problems with the ears, they don't look like that. The seam joining the head to the ears should be less visible. I don't like the expressions on your second model, they look too much the same, and the mouth is very static.
Except that, good work !

I saw this models on your website www.briglia3d.it, really nice stuff, i used 'em as reference many times for my works. Only crits are about specular (it seems a bit metallic, probably due to the max scanline renderer or to the lack of SSS) and about the ears, you could improve 'em. Compliments!
Translation:
Complimenti!

Wow!! Cool work u made there!
Well, don't be so tough with him on the second model guys because if u take a look at the left upper corner , it's written "Eye_ morph" and I guess that's why only the eyes change :D
...so congrats mister ziopredy!! It's because of guys like you that I wanna try 3D too (yes I'm a 2D man ;) )!!

Heh, Very good stuff here, the sweater on diver (who looks like a dishevled george bush to me for some reason:p ) is really nice!
MY crit is two fold.
The ears look to be the weakest part of the model.. not bad, but no as good as the rest.
And on the expressions, they arent drastic enough, had I not seen the words next to it, I wouldnt have known he was angry. I think the reason is his mouth is smiling throughout all of them, it should change same as the brow.
Very nice work my friend

I think people are missing the caption for the second head.
They say:
eye morphs.
He's just showing up animation setups for the eyes...but yes the mouth does throw off the rest of the pose.
Besides that I think the second face looks great. The first face the skin seems a bit rubbery..I think its the wrinkles look a little too defined. Not sure though.
Great work!

Haw:Ver,
I think he is talking about spline modeling with surface tools and all that. That's what the mesh looks like to me. Very awesome.

wow ziopredy!!!
Are you crazy?! This man looks so good
no award? Hey moderators...this guy must have an award!!!
...but at the second guy the "angry" expression is not strong enough. The mouth should be manipulated, too
but overall; This model rocks :airguitar

WOW, Excellent work, the shaders are quite good, the second model's skin and hair are very well done. I agree with previous post about diver's ear being too smooth.

Thanks for the compliments. The model "old diver" has not good ears, I admit that I did not work much on them; the base of this model is the same of black boy model. I have a base line model face and I move the control points for have a start for new faces.
I focused on the face and texture more than details like ears.
The "Black boy" model I has been modeled for "Code Guardian" animation by Marco Spitoni, here's a more complete screenshot of him
http://www.briglia3d.it/3D/W_Marinaio2_2.jpg
Now i'm currently working on another character fo this short movie, and because the overall quality of the animation is very high and photorealistic, i'm studyng much on realistic appearence, and facial animation.
Here's a in progres and temporary model

Greetings, Alessandro
genix and anyone else that cant read, it said it was a study on the eye morph, hence his face remaining the same except around the eyes.
